Misc: Who Wants To Be A Moderator?

I'm seeking for an auxiliar moderator to help with the maintenance of the board. The requeriments are:

- Be an active member of the board
- Know and respect the Granaboard Rules & Regulations
- Be able to review all new posts at least twice a week
- English (read and write, medium-high level)

The following things will be valued positively, but are not requisites:

- Be a Granaboard veteran
- AIM or MSN IM contact
- Large experience in other message boards
- Be able to review the board every two days in the second half of July
- Spanish

II GRANABOARD MODERATOR FORM

First of all, thank you very much for showing interest in becoming a moderator, I really appreciate it. Please fill all of the following questions and E-Mail or PM me with it.

1. Why do you want to become a moderator?

2. Why do you think you are the best for the job?

3. How many times a week could you review all new posts in average?

4. What hours of the day do you usually browse the board at? Please specify time zone too (CET or GMT+x).

5. For how long do you think you'll be able to work as a moderator?

6. Do you know if you'll be able to moderate the board every two days in the second half of July?

7. If you became a moderator, could we discuss whatever we'd need over AIM/MSN?

8. Do you know other languages besides English (high level read and write)?

9. What's your experience in web message boards, Usenet, etc.?

10. How much do you really want to be a moderator? (This is important too)

1. To help out with the board.

2. Well I wouldn't think I'm the best, since a few other people would be better (such as Xel.)

3. It depends on activity. [img]wink.gif[/img] Well, actually I usually come once at day at least, but with school starting back it might drop down but I still might be able to come once a day.

4. GMT-5:00 (US Eastern Coast). I usually get home from school at 3:30 or so. Usually around 7:00PM-10:00PM, and it varies from day to day.

5. Maybe for quite awhile if my computer doesn't die, or if something else comes up. Probably as long as DR or longer.

6. Hard for me to say since my family takes vacations at random.

7. Yes, I use both, but AIM more than MSN.

8. No not really but I can use www.freetranslation.com

9. Well I was a mod at one board on EzBoard that is gone now. I was an Admin on another EzBoard or two, both are gone now. So I've had a little bit of training.

10. Enough to fill out this form, but not enough to do sexual favors for the position.

(Just a note, DR has disappeared from the message board but he never dropped a note to oficially resign or quit. Since he's been unactive for more than two months, I consider him retired. I'm keeping him as a mod in case I'd need something WRT my own account, but when I choose the new mod, I'll also demod him.)

1. Well, first, i'll be able to taunt people. Second, i guess this place will be very popular, so it will need mods of a different political stance/interests to feel more comfortable here.

2. I'd be friendly. I also have a big mailbox, so i'll be able to take a lot of <s>hate</s> fan mail. I'm also on the board at most times.

3. Well, at present, i read all topics except the Xeno topic and the RPs. I mainly read all the new posts every day.

4. I'm on GMT, but my times of being here vary a hell of a lot. Somedays i'm working, so i'm on in the evening, but when i'm not, i'm on in the morning.

5. Either til the board ends, or i get banned. Both i think are rather unlikely.

6. Yup, unless i go on holiday.

7. Sure, chatting would be cool.

8. None, but i am slowly learning Japanese.

9. The Granaboard is the first place i've ever posted so much, but back on Pojo, i did read a hell of a lot.

10. To be a mod for a message board i've been going to for so many years, that would be so awesome. I do enjoy helping new people fit in. However, i don't need to be a mod for that. If anything, it's more for myself to become a mod. The feeling of belonging to something so pointlessly fun is great. To be a mod would make it even more fun.

11. To be honest, i think the chances of me becoming a mod is low. But, there is still a chance. I'm not gonna give up just because i had an arugement with the admin. I still see him as a good friend, and while i'm not sure, he probably sees the same towards me. Still, good luck to the others, and i hope they have a good modding career.

1. Because I want to help out the board, andlet you go away without worrying about it

2. I'm on all the time, read every post, just don't always reply. And outisde of Shini, phaq, and Bj (And yourself, of course), I'm the one who's been longest and is still active oftne.

3. At least 2x a day, unless on a date or something

4. (GMT-05/EST) During off days, 4 PM-4 AM

5. Dunno, probably 'til the board dies. Would probably get a bit less active if marry Lina, but that won't be happening for awhile

6. Yes, we usually go on vacations in August.

9. Mod at a friend's board, it was active for a few months, then died recently. Been at GFAQs since I was at this board.
